At this article we will show you how to Install Oracle Java 12 Linux Ubuntu, especially for Ubuntu version 18.04. Oracle Java installation on Linux Ubuntu is easier since we are using the PPA.
Oracle Java 12 Installation Steps on Ubuntu 18.04
Now we can easily install the Oracle Oracle Java 12 via Personal Package Archives (PPA) in Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu 18.10, or higher version. At this article we are using the PPA from “Linux Uprising” team, where the installer script will automatically downloads java package from Oracle web server, and installs it on the system.
1. Adding PPA for linux uprising team, using open terminal, run the comand below :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linuxuprising/java
2. Run commands below to start the install the script to start downloading and installing Java 12 on your Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install oracle-java12-installer-local
Follow next instruction by entering ‘Y’ letter, and then the console will be prompted the “Oracle Technology Network License Agreement for Oracle Java SE”. Clikc ‘OK’ for your aggreement.
