Installing Cura Using Snap

Installing Ultimaker Cura 4.11, we will use Snap. Snaps are applications packaged with all their dependencies to run on all popular Linux distributions from a single build. They update automatically and roll back gracefully. For Ubuntu 16.04 and later, Snap is already installed and ready to go. The installation will be as follow :

  1. Update System
  2. Install Cura Slicer

Update System

By updating our Ubuntu system, it will refresh the local list of available packages software to the newer stable version. o update Ubuntu 20.04 LTS repositories, we will use the command line:

$ sudo apt update

Install Cura 4.11 Slicer

Since Ultimaker Cura slicer software is included on snap, so we will install it by using snapd, by typing command line :

sudo snap install cura-slicer

Install Ultimaker Cura 4.11 Using Ubuntu Software Manager
