Before we install the DBeaver on our Ubuntu environment, we have to check the prerequisite of Dbeaver first. The main thing of DBeaver is, the software running above Java environment, so we must make sure our Ubuntu has Java running properly, if there is no JDK running you have to install if first. For this purpose we can verifty with the command line. But, firtsly, we have to always check the latest update of Ubuntu software before install anything on it and then check the Java version :
ramans@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt update ramans@ubuntu:~$ java -version
Fortunately, our JDK has been installed on our system. If you find no JDK installed just download and install first before continuing this step. For your referenece I have write the article about JDK installation on this section.
The next step after JDK was installed is download DBeaver source from Ubuntu repository.
ramans@ubuntu:~$ wget -O - https://dbeaver.io/debs/dbeaver.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add - ramans@ubuntu:~$ echo "deb https://dbeaver.io/debs/dbeaver-ce /" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/dbeaver.list
The screenshot could be as shown below, where we got the latest DBeaver version (while the articel was made) released on October 21, 2019.
The next step is running DBeaver installation.
ramans@ubuntu:~$ sudo apt install dbeaver-ce
The installation process can be veryfied with the command :
ramans@ubuntu:~$ apt policy dbeaver-ce
After all step was done, go to the Ubuntu desktop and find a DBeaver application as shown below :
